It's a Work Day ~

And Gus is helping.  Well, not really, he is trying, but he gets in the way and hauls off the tools. But he sure is cute doing it.

Ta Da!!

Here it is. All done except for tiling the backsplash, valance in the window and a couple of little touch up things. I love it. It has been so fun to cook again. I'll have to admit I did enjoy the break from cooking for a while.

Finally, a picture to show you what we have been working on. I love how they turned out. The range hood should be here this weekend and the next step will be to tile the backsplash.

Before Pictures ~

I just realized that I haven't shown a picture of what the kitchen looked like before we started this "little" project. Here are a couple of pictures before pictures I found from last summer.

Happy July!

Yikes! has it really been 6 weeks since I've posted anything. It has truly been a busy summer. Kristine and I have had a great time hanging out and working on projects during the day. We have done Vinyl tiles for Relief Society, Handouts for a Visiting Teaching thing and we are in the middle of 150 charm keychains for Stake Girls Camp. We have really made a lot of progress on the kitchen project. The cupboards are painted and glazed, have new knobs and we've added crown moulding to the cupboards. This past weekend we replaced the old countertop base with new 3/4 inch plywood and cement board. The kitchen sink is gone and the new one is waiting in the garage. We have wood trim put on the cupboard edges and got that stained. Here are a couple of pictures. Right now we have the granite tile layed out out and cut to size. Rod should be able to take another day off this week so we can get it finished.

Look at this amazing pot rack we found. We are still waiting for a range hood and then we can figure out how we want to do the floor.

Kitchen Remodel Continued ~

I missed posting the pictures of last weeks kitchen remodel project. I didn't think everyone would want to see my cupboards without the doors on them. The doors have been spread out on the counter and the table getting their face lift. And, now some of them are back up. Yeah!! No more messy cupboards to look at. Here is a peek at what it looks like now. This weekend we will get knobs for the doors. We have been looking at fancy new range hoods so the big blank spot will get filled in soon. Then the next step is the countertop.

In case you were wondering, yes, we are having a party at my house on the 10th of April. It will be a celebrate the end of the semester at BYU-I, family Fajita Party. Two of my kids are there and five nieces and nephews. One of the girls will be graduating and my sister's family will be here too. Should be lots of fun! I wish the rest of you could join us.

Remodel update ~

I've had two requests this morning for picture updates, so here you are. We are moving right along with the kitchen. We have removed the laminate countertop and backsplash. Removed old moulding from doors and windows. We took out the microwave, do you like how I say "we", actually it was Rod and Brad. (The microwave was just good for softening butter and needed to be replaced so it had to go.) And the biggest thing - we have painted the kitchen walls. I love the new color. Here are a few pictures so you can get an idea of what is going on. We have picked a terracotta tile for the countertops and smaller 4 inch tiles for the backsplash, which will go from countertop to under the cupboards and cover up the last bit of the green. We will be getting a really neat range hood too.

We also have replaced the old light in the living room. Yes, the old gold thing is gone. I don't have pictures of the new one yet, but trust me it looks so much better than before. Kristine said we should take the old one to Antiques Road Show. I don't think so, if it really was an antique it would have matched all of my antique tables and would be staying.

Home Remodel ~

No, I haven't stopped stamping, but I have been taking a break so we can do some home remodeling. We have pulled up the carpet in the living room and put down a wood floor. It is beautiful. The stairs are done and the upstairs landing should be done tomorrow. It looks so good, even without the molding up yet. Here is a little peek. Can't wait to get it finished and move on to the kitchen. Later this summer we are planning to do a new wood floor in my craft room too.
And here are a couple new pictures of my sweet grandbaby. As you can see Spring has finally made it to Idaho.

Enjoy your weekend,

Wendy

Welcome to my Craft Room ~

Here is a picture of my Craft Room! It has been rearranged, cleaned out and organized. Saturday I found this amazing wire shelf that is above my desk to hold stamp sets and other goodies, it was the missing piece. There is space at the desk under the window for a scrapping buddy too. Kristine was really concerned about the rearranging until we got a space for her to work and store her tool tote. I love having a room with a window. I guess it is one of the perks of kids growing up and moving out.

These next pictures are of a cute little chocolate pocket card I made this weekend. I used the Fast Flowers wheel with Chocolate Chip ink and watercolored the flowers with Purely Pomegranate. Pretty easy, and I love how it turned out.

Happy Monday,

Wendy
