Who doesn't love going to Carino's and getting their Bowtie Festival Pasta. It's a major favorite here. Well, I found a couple of recipes that tried to duplicate it and I've read them and then done own version. So here it my first Cooking From the Heart recipe post. Enjoy! And be sure to let me know how your version turns out.</div>

I'm sure your family will love it as well. It really does need the onion to give it flavor, so put it in even if you aren't a fan of onions.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 28.8px;">Hot Bacon Cheese Spread ~</span><br />
<br />
1 loaf (16 ounces) round bread, unsliced<br />
1/2 pound of bacon, cook till crisp and crumble<br />
8 oz. shredded Colby/Monterey Jack Cheese<br />
4 to 6 ounces grated parmesan cheese<br />
1 cup mayonnaise<br />
1/4 cup onion, finely chopped<br />
1 or 2 cloves garlic minced.<br />
<br />
Cut a lengthwise slice from the top of the bread loaf. Take out the center and leave a 1 inch thick shell. cut the unused bread into bite size chunks to use as dippers.<br />
<br />
Mix everything else in a bowl and spoon into the bread shell. Put the top back on the bread and place on a cookie sheet.<br />
<br />
Bake at 350' for 1 hour. Serve with bread or crackers (I like Wheat thins with this).<br />
<br />
If there is any left, you can cover it and put in the fridge. It reheats real well in a microwave.wendy peatrosshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09773952468771192797noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-254273976631202364.post-31140094641466085242018-04-24T17:13:00.001-06:002018-04-24T17:13:11.995-06:00Homemade Garlic CroutonsIf you have a leftover loaf of good Italian Bread don't let it sit so long that you have to throw it out. Take a few minutes and make croutons. The homemade kind are so much better than those that come in a bag. Here are the super simple instructions.<br />
<div>
<br />
<div>
First preheat your oven to 375'.</div>
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5434091701931388066" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghUz4m7xQSJUUO7crWHjgEq9x5ikKdIgFYPM_br4_28sOcm5ewN7wgnyCbGhzRHMZQNmuMysi6BJG08CBRD77avtpgFvdQ7NYlC174Hoy2kkil-ulKVWSZMGifb75GuilEncaZC0oIIIh2/s400/IMG_9557.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 300px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /><br />
<div>
Melt 1 cube of butter and stir in 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt. Cut your bread into 1/2 to 1 inch cubes.<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5434091705833258754" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_6tIn8FqKdIx7orm5onimvTIU5JuwqRxCigsooRPMZvJMFHOwEOpO_eXjw86nj9MLaNdno_rKIHG4maJqsBNKw_dOlS-hQ820qPdip2mnFEdQVusWzDbkFNn61eE7Mv4OkmelW0TV7XqZ/s400/IMG_9558.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 300px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" />Toss with the seasoned butter and spread out on a Silpat laid out on your baking sheet.<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5434091713062603394" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgj8h0AP2TalPkeY6kfyfJqXMT8CR6QTtevYOltoDjSXb5CIpGQE8fQKyFawxrefo8OxPh8QNJDyoNPukJ93UnsjqVKAPHDV9M2o9MUVGooP0DOQR78210naNw2ga8WPUXu5OOUMduLUT7m/s400/IMG_9559.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 300px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5434091719740050386" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdKALojdWAumI_L1vRKB6hdZDhL5bAKurENKcMqJCmOrnfd2bMsHpExsFBdnaz9xUKxC4WMV7j_ILrHfvzZSsG9slp6tzjpAOCnJbT_iUxzNaiX6-OyFs0FiQyqW9rFHjzAmIP_Al-VjSp/s400/IMG_9560.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 300px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" />Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Even if there isn't a party, it is fun to make fancy sandwiches. I made these sandwiches for a Bridal Shower and every one loved them. I am also doing them for a Relief Society Activity next week. I've found there are always occasions where we have to, or get to entertain, and it is always to have fun new recipes to wow guests with, so here is a new one for your recipe box.<br />
<br />
This starts off with making a <span style="font-size: 28.8px;">Roasted Red Pepper Dip</span>.<br />
<br />
In a food processor, or blender place about 7 oz. roasted red peppers, drained, 1 T chopped basil, (I used oregano, since that was growing in my window garden), and 1 clove of garlic, chopped.<br />
Blend them and add 4 oz. cream cheese. Put in a covered container in the fridge to chill.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggCpXAtngj9Cya3-pihm_hvVJmf9-3OmMh7b7cHLN1BZ1xf5Y40Eo_ymbxv5JP6mILWKMe9Qv2WTdWLNxJlbBaQyvxEF7t5vmSE1QgI35DET89W0eLbvfU-VZ4C3ye7WflpHKS3PD0OmIE/s1600/IMG_0085.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5467479181344499074" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggCpXAtngj9Cya3-pihm_hvVJmf9-3OmMh7b7cHLN1BZ1xf5Y40Eo_ymbxv5JP6mILWKMe9Qv2WTdWLNxJlbBaQyvxEF7t5vmSE1QgI35DET89W0eLbvfU-VZ4C3ye7WflpHKS3PD0OmIE/s400/IMG_0085.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 300px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /></a>You can either make your own focaccia bread, or buy a loaf. Slice your loaf horizontally with a bread knife.<br />

Yesterday I made fresh homemade Salsa and Chicken Chimies. They were so good and will be a regular on our menu now. First, for the Salsa, I chopped up 4 vine-ripe tomatoes, 1/2 red onion, 3 T cilantro, and a couple cloves of garlic.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8NZjDkktfsCISSJvindNmVLkkNG7zoVi_u1UJMhzUeTOnRaM8f4WVsF5J7n_dymxeTnTuTSqVR5Y9-k-HmFCUvNI6ih1DVxh604a-5vphg2Hn9TztkncfB8M9olPTgaK1C-QR2J_8vHos/s1600/IMG_0103.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5468207310741957250" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8NZjDkktfsCISSJvindNmVLkkNG7zoVi_u1UJMhzUeTOnRaM8f4WVsF5J7n_dymxeTnTuTSqVR5Y9-k-HmFCUvNI6ih1DVxh604a-5vphg2Hn9TztkncfB8M9olPTgaK1C-QR2J_8vHos/s400/IMG_0103.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 300px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /></a><br />
I added a couple tablespoons of lime juice, and garlic salt, chili powder, cumin, and red pepper flakes to taste. The tasting is the best part. Cover and let sit for a couple of hours for the flavors to blend.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuU4blXl7XzQ-IobrAD1lBBgeAjM2yiPI-cV_GAmwvGJi3Q1QKq6FqAULUIQ1zHp5cFEAPPFGy802z7KZzX0xV6V7nyZ_mQCibijxN7xeo55MQe4_qs19nyq_4m86nDmziCpCjRh240Kp7/s1600/IMG_0104.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5468207317939209346" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuU4blXl7XzQ-IobrAD1lBBgeAjM2yiPI-cV_GAmwvGJi3Q1QKq6FqAULUIQ1zHp5cFEAPPFGy802z7KZzX0xV6V7nyZ_mQCibijxN7xeo55MQe4_qs19nyq_4m86nDmziCpCjRh240Kp7/s400/IMG_0104.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 300px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /></a><br />
Serve with chips and over your Chicken Chimies.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2Tp4c65E7C6hmo7t77kyf3-1rbiIlwMhix2i5ApAH9-ODi7la51VtkNc4Cer639lxhuRhyptqKlOkCrN1HM_RufXQS05DuMp1SL8uewh9owYXIMH0PL0sZpYVsKHgLit8Nvy9iUC7PNV5/s1600/IMG_0106.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5468207326670475554" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2Tp4c65E7C6hmo7t77kyf3-1rbiIlwMhix2i5ApAH9-ODi7la51VtkNc4Cer639lxhuRhyptqKlOkCrN1HM_RufXQS05DuMp1SL8uewh9owYXIMH0PL0sZpYVsKHgLit8Nvy9iUC7PNV5/s400/IMG_0106.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 300px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /></a><br />
Cook boneless, skinless chicken breasts. I usually boil mine. When they are cool, shred with forks and add to a pan with a couple tablespoons of butter. Season with garlic salt, pepper, cumin and chili powder. Cook for about 5 minutes.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLAQrPvO8CpA0bf8HbzsnfMLsSypSXKuiEnohBZLtm_cvFCkhLlkiplMMu6bTfpbwIy3GEZ_jZfjPs0U2d7UH4xfIex8IQXVgTU7wNGkXxbPc9kplqB_FPkIDzALzqhiuFyREdlwYBcWOv/s1600/IMG_0105.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5468209514315858738" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLAQrPvO8CpA0bf8HbzsnfMLsSypSXKuiEnohBZLtm_cvFCkhLlkiplMMu6bTfpbwIy3GEZ_jZfjPs0U2d7UH4xfIex8IQXVgTU7wNGkXxbPc9kplqB_FPkIDzALzqhiuFyREdlwYBcWOv/s400/IMG_0105.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 300px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /></a><br />
On a warm flour tortilla put some of the chicken and some cheese. Roll up burrito style and set aside. In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil. Over medium heat add the chimies and cook until lightly browned on all sides. This doesn't take long. Put on a pan in a 300' oven to keep warm until time to serve.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzUGt2kkaebjt2illDQ6iVkBoh3HC2hZ7qtpdy1ZXEIIKdQGkhXBWIpcX5d-2YTlqWjo1jRoCzGJkJCdOiaksm8U3RH9s50geRT75h5R0uLSKmrng5Z3rlKwCjlNSUD5gG6pf_7AnCXyu4/s1600/IMG_0107.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5468209501878575538" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzUGt2kkaebjt2illDQ6iVkBoh3HC2hZ7qtpdy1ZXEIIKdQGkhXBWIpcX5d-2YTlqWjo1jRoCzGJkJCdOiaksm8U3RH9s50geRT75h5R0uLSKmrng5Z3rlKwCjlNSUD5gG6pf_7AnCXyu4/s400/IMG_0107.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 300px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /></a><br />

It is really easy and really good too.<br />
You will need two tubes of the refrigerated pizza crust. Spray a rimmed cookie sheet with pan spray and roll out the pizza crust to fill the cookie sheet. Poke little indentations with the end of a wooden spoon. Brush the top lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning<br />
Bake at 375' for about 12 minutes.<br />
To make the Focaccia Sandwiches, cut the bread into two rectangles. Spread the Roasted Red Pepper Spread over the bottom and layer with turkey, tomatoes, and spinach as desired. (See photos with the Roasted Red Pepper recipe.) Cut the sandwich into 12 little squares. You can secure the sandwich layers with a toothpick if desired.wendy peatrosshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09773952468771192797noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-254273976631202364.post-2487292694437185982018-04-24T17:06:00.002-06:002018-04-24T17:06:55.108-06:00Vegetable PizzaThis is a recipe I have been getting a lot of requests for lately. So here you go. It makes a perfect addition to a holiday buffet, or just a great little lunch. With the colorful broccoli and tomatoes it even looks like Christmas food. Enjoy!!<br />

This is a big family treat and often requested for birthday dinners. Even if you don't make the Ravioli you will have to try the pasta sauce. It is so good and will even dress up store bought pasta. The full recipes are at the end of the blog and here are the step by step photos.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5668MEuEQtWcCM1x5VeT0XGbGzsPIOUC0Qqheix-a2CeZcrBqrCZ2SD4fdf70irGUlV4eVWFKcyMkp66aeVD3sYkcpXKlQ-7MpCPBxeFLIvqyd5gUdnVQGSUxdcdySs9i_okhjUBeWrJP/s1600/004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5668MEuEQtWcCM1x5VeT0XGbGzsPIOUC0Qqheix-a2CeZcrBqrCZ2SD4fdf70irGUlV4eVWFKcyMkp66aeVD3sYkcpXKlQ-7MpCPBxeFLIvqyd5gUdnVQGSUxdcdySs9i_okhjUBeWrJP/s1600/004.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
These are the tools I use. Pasta machines are really handy to use and not too expensive. Or you can use a rolling pin and a knife. Either one works.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvE90-z_rZhaet-0Qcov8yaodINIH4CQGzZl1a4y5vMB1RKeXR48DwPoNV-3g3X1XbaQYB7BObdcYaCO05l-28E6PhPOYyt_rxnxnoMH3BKhyphenhyphen90P-JMeREpMyNyrPfUJZg75LDc7zi-LiQ/s1600/005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvE90-z_rZhaet-0Qcov8yaodINIH4CQGzZl1a4y5vMB1RKeXR48DwPoNV-3g3X1XbaQYB7BObdcYaCO05l-28E6PhPOYyt_rxnxnoMH3BKhyphenhyphen90P-JMeREpMyNyrPfUJZg75LDc7zi-LiQ/s1600/005.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
These are the simple ingredients needed for the dough.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNAB5Vwl6rEjeFtf692Is-s6ZenbTiajSUBd_bak6xJ2XLdFXmY-HMzcCHzTbO_mocFrEPdyCa9vrxaxmpTz-vFkbKOav7tm2M5RTvdpmHDidND_ILyPlJeZsts4RDBW4Kpkw1vI-6QP8r/s1600/006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNAB5Vwl6rEjeFtf692Is-s6ZenbTiajSUBd_bak6xJ2XLdFXmY-HMzcCHzTbO_mocFrEPdyCa9vrxaxmpTz-vFkbKOav7tm2M5RTvdpmHDidND_ILyPlJeZsts4RDBW4Kpkw1vI-6QP8r/s1600/006.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Add your olive oil to the eggs, then beat them and stir into the flour. Knead into a ball.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFOVdfvrol6xx2AMQ4hqrBBRUooaK5YhhAIz6Wg51SVm5TIW_P-8kNA7iDEMMtGmvPuuvT0OPy29rgJJQTqTBCd_IzdIB_A8dZOVWXyq0nOIGxGoNqYTJLYz4EY4rVB5mJU4fyYc-qDkz2/s1600/009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFOVdfvrol6xx2AMQ4hqrBBRUooaK5YhhAIz6Wg51SVm5TIW_P-8kNA7iDEMMtGmvPuuvT0OPy29rgJJQTqTBCd_IzdIB_A8dZOVWXyq0nOIGxGoNqYTJLYz4EY4rVB5mJU4fyYc-qDkz2/s1600/009.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
It will be a hard ball, not soft like bread dough. Keep the dough covered or in a plastic bag while you make the filling.<br />

You may need to add a cup of water at this point. Cook your ravioli from either fresh or frozen in a pot of boiling water. It should just take 3 to 4 minutes if fresh and a few more minutes frozen. Serve with pasta sauce and top with grated cheese.<br />

The Nashville Needlework Market is just two short weeks away and I have everything shipped off and ready for the shoppers. I had to decide last fall about going to market and with my ankle surgery it was just the best decision to stay home this year. I am back to walking and driving myself but it took awhile and I still feel this was the best decision, but I will miss meeting shop owners and other designers. But my new designs will be there. Hoffman Distributing will have all of my charts. And Norden Crafts will have all of the charts plus the models. Here are the previews.</div>

Here is a fun new release. It is called Sunflower Fields. I have stitched it two ways and the chart includes three thread palettes for you to choose from. Weeks Dye Works threads, Silk 'n Colors from The Thread Gatherer, and DMC. My favorite thing about this chart is the 6" Lone Elm Lane box that it is shown on. These are such high quality boxes and so fun to display stitching on. There is also an extra little chart for the front and back of a scissor fob. The chart includes little corner motifs you can stitch to make the piece square to frame or put on a pillow, or leave them off to put your piece on the Lone Elm Lane box.</div>

So here is a wrap up of what we've released this summer. First there are the May, June, July and August Floral Postcards. There are fun, quick to stitch and can be framed or finished into a small pillow or hanging to display each month. <br />

Then there are the next two in the Bird Sampler Series. There is the Robin Sampler and the Chickadee Sampler. I love the R & R Reproductions fabric this is stitched on. Coming this fall there will be one last one to bring the total in the series to 6. It will be a Goldfinch Sampler. These can be combined into one band sampler with simple directions available as a free chart. If you would like the PDF files of the combination sampler, please email me and I'll get it off to you. madebywendy @ gmail .com<br />

This bird series has been so much fun to do. And to carry on the with the bird theme, there is a cute bird pincushion coming in August. Stay tuned for more information on that. I was looking through a few old pictures today and found pictures of some of the quilts I've made. So figured a blog post was a good place to get them all together.</div>

This lap quilt was originally made for my Grandma Verda Mae Andrus Wakeman. After she passed away I got it and two years ago when little Alexis Autumn King was born on February 22, 101 years to the day after grandma was born I wrote the story on the back and gave it to her.<br />

And here is Grandma's Quilt Block. This is taken from an old quilt we received as a wedding present 30 years ago. It was made by my Great Aunt Lisle Loosle Andrus. I am designing more quilt block charts so they can be stitched together into a 12" by 16" mini stitched quilt.wendy peatrosshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09773952468771192797noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-254273976631202364.post-52265364152501658412013-01-23T09:21:00.001-07:002013-01-23T09:21:02.944-07:00Free Cross Stitch Chart ~<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I made it onto the <a href="http://shepherdsbushblog.blogspot.com/2012/11/christmas-is-coming.html">Shepherd's Bush Blog.</a><br />
<br />
I probably need to give you a little background as to why this is blog post worthy. Back about 25, or more, years ago when I was first getting into Cross Stitching I quickly found out the closest real cross stitch shop was Shepherd's Bush in Ogden. I fell in love with the store and their style of stitching. I've stitched many of their charts and we've stopped at the shop many times on our way to vacations (with the family patiently waiting in the car while Mom shopped) to get more goodies. As I became a designer of my own company I have gotten to know Teri and Tina better and still love visiting their cute little shop.<br />
<br />
This fall at their retreat I took my new Christmas ornament chart, Poinsettia Sampler. They loved it, and have stitched a model for their shop and it is featured on their blog today.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Here is the picture from their blog. Mine is on the bottom right. We might need to run to Ogden and check this out in person.<br />

I was lucky enough to get a spot in the Shepherd's Bush Retreat in Park City. Rod and I drove down on Thursday Morning.(After celebrating my birthday with family the day before.) The classes were lots of fun and the teachers were amazing. It was so fun to be around so many women who are as obsessed with needlework as I am.<br />
<br />
The event organizers Tina and Teri invited me to being some of my charts to sell in their retreat shop. That was a lot of fun. I got to visit with ladies who had seen my charts before and even sign a few charts. I've come back recharged and ready to get back designing. There were two new designs I introduced while I was there. <br />

There is the hymn book from Grandma Verda Andrus Wakeman that sits out on my piano. There are the antique tables that I remember seeing in my Grandma Frances Carter Yost's house that I now enjoy in my own living room. Some of them were even made by my Great Grandpa Carter. And there is the old, old copy of the Book of Mormon that I got from my Great Aunt Thelma. I love these treasures. They are a daily reminder of these special people that are now gone. This past week my Mother-in-law Jenene Harris Peatross passed away. We were able to gather together with many family members and pay tribute to her, and remember the many good things she had done in her life. Along with her passing was the passing down of family treasures. I was able to bring home a treasure that me and my girls will treasure along with these other grandma treasures.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKV6dkXNgLMYSawoK7QmocWmVglCY5oWVIXHtwObzMeasOUXre8u41m7jt7PPgwnWQiBg_mWculcIXD_PrXgaR8vo4rXQRH5VVit9Du63XLLp2AFK_cjUQZKZfNJzqFgC96_kBNbTIOCeT/s1600/Pink+Castle+China.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKV6dkXNgLMYSawoK7QmocWmVglCY5oWVIXHtwObzMeasOUXre8u41m7jt7PPgwnWQiBg_mWculcIXD_PrXgaR8vo4rXQRH5VVit9Du63XLLp2AFK_cjUQZKZfNJzqFgC96_kBNbTIOCeT/s320/Pink+Castle+China.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This is her set of Pink Castle China. (Yes, that is the pattern name, it is amazing what you can find on google. They are from the 1930's.) The story gets even better. This set of dishes that I got from my Mother-in-law came from her Mother-in-law Lydia Remington Peatross, who got them from her Mother-in-law Lily Asbury Wright Peatross. The last time we visited Jenene down in Fairview, she was telling us that William and Lily Peatross were quite well to do back east and wanted to send something nice to their daughter-in-law out in Utah. So that is the story of these dishes that have been handed down through four generations of Peatross women. Yes, they are a treasure, one that I am happy to add to my other Grandma treasures.</div>wendy peatrosshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09773952468771192797noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-254273976631202364.post-53036691731395334942011-10-17T12:42:00.001-06:002011-10-17T12:42:50.718-06:00I Love Yarn Day! Did you know that last Friday, October 14th, was "I Love Yarn Day!" well I didn't know it then, but I happened to celebrate anyway by stocking up on yarn and knitting needles. (These supplies are some of the few that have been missing from my well stocked craft room.)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwyfaiHP6ZzJzt3bh_E6et5EE2b6rUwfqUSuhfNmxHp9MZXTL5-05YbFCIb3UXNZgPkzjxKh_urMbAekqmztQ-pJweBL8TxL7OnEV94PY3OtgUFpZY0hBLtJnDQhhbOrGuEqbif92Ilmk-/s1600/IMG_2395.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwyfaiHP6ZzJzt3bh_E6et5EE2b6rUwfqUSuhfNmxHp9MZXTL5-05YbFCIb3UXNZgPkzjxKh_urMbAekqmztQ-pJweBL8TxL7OnEV94PY3OtgUFpZY0hBLtJnDQhhbOrGuEqbif92Ilmk-/s200/IMG_2395.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>
<br />
My Mom is an amazing knitter and I know she has tried to teach me before but it just never clicked. Anyway with my recent milestone birthday behind me I felt like giving it a go again. So armed with my new supplies and a good how-to book, I shut myself in my room and started. And do you know what, it worked! I was actually knitting. Well, that first piece wasn't much to look at, but the second one is coming along quite nicely. (Mom you would be proud.)<br />

I was just talking to Michelle and we decided that Fall is our favorite season and since it is September 1st, we can put up Fall decorations. So I guess that means today is a good time to show you my latest cross stitch chart that celebrates this fabulous season. This is a fun, quick to stitch chart. I stitched it in silks, and the pattern includes conversions for Dinky Dyes Silks, Thread Gatherer Silk 'N Colors, and Weeks Dye Works hand dyed cotton floss. It will be available to order next week from my distributor.</div>
